Bushwalla

Bushwalla

Billy “Bushwalla” Galewood is the man who started it all. In 2008, he was invited by us to play a private show at our house, thus beginning the UtrechtLRCs shows. He continued to come back every year after that and he truly is a friend and rockstar to us all.

Bushwalla’s shows are a unique combination of music with witty lyrics, comedy and entertainment. He is not afraid to try new things, improvise, freestyle, juggle, balance his guitar on his chin or invite audience members up on stage. Because of these things, and many more, he has the ability to put together a great show… for people who have seen him perform dozens of times, as well as for those who have never heard about him.

Dawn Mitschele

dawnDawn Mitschele was the second artist to play at our house after five Bushwalla shows. Being a friend of Billy “Bushwalla” Galewood and an integral part of the Southern Californian music scene, it was an easy thing for us to invite her. She joined us in the summer of 2011 for the first time and came back one year later.

Dawn’s shows are filled with a variety of soft and well-composed songs, as well as upbeat and uplifting ones. What stands out in her performances is a great deal of creativity. In 2011, she let two members of our community open the show with their personal material, and in 2012, she had two blank canvasses set up for the audience to participate in the experience. Her songs have the ability to touch people immediately, which is why her fanbase here and everywhere is growing continually.

Jason Mraz

jasonIn 2011, Jason Mraz, a friend of Bushwalla and Dawn Mitschele, agreed to do a house concert with us. We invited him by explaining our mission and goals and as someone who values community, he accepted our invitation. Jason is a leader of this community, connecting people through his concerts, regardless of whether in front of 50 or in front 20.000 people.

Jason’s shows are filled with catchy tunes, originating from his older, as well as his newer albums. He emits a lot of energy on stage and involves the audience with both sing-a-longs, as well as by taking requests. Having played a lot of coffeehouse concerts years ago, he is completely comfortable playing solo acoustic shows. The fact that he has a large backing band at his bigger concerts shows that he truly is a man of many talents.

Ryan Dilmore

ryanRyan Dilmore is perhaps the youngest artist to have played at our home, yet he continues to blow us away every time. Ryan played three house concerts with us, one in 2012 and two in 2013. He has become an important figure in the music community around the rest of our artist friends, for instance as the producer of Dawn Mitschele’s EP “Silence the Noise”, as well as in our growing house concert community.

Ryan’s show brings its audience – above all –  inspirational lyrics. His clever songs not only mention Da Vinci and Copernicus, his words make you think about your own life and relationships. Ryan’s songs are catchy, often resulting in sing-a-longs during shows, and his performances are filled with jokes and laughter. We are so grateful for his friendship and expect many great things to happen for Ryan in the (not so distant) future.
